The Importance of Regular HVAC Maintenance

1. Increase the Life of Your HVAC System

Investing in your home’s HVAC system can be expensive, especially when buying a new system. However, regular maintenance will help your system work efficiently and run longer than a system that is not routinely checked. Investing in annual HVAC maintenance can save you money in the long run by extending the life of your system.

2. Increase Your Safety

Your safety is the most important thing to us. Annual maintenance ensures that preventative measures are taken to avoid issues such as damaged households and carbon monoxide poisoning. The most common cause of carbon monoxide poisoning is a cracked or failed heat exchanger. With regular maintenance, these problems can be identified and resolved before they become a serious problem.

3. Save Money on Energy Bills

Preventative maintenance is the easiest way to prevent unforeseen breakdowns. Investing in regular check-ups on your system means you likely won’t need repair service as often. Regular maintenance allows us to detect most problems before they arise and develop into a more serious problem. Additionally, regular HVAC maintenance can reduce the cost of your monthly
energy bill by allowing your system to run at maximum efficiency.

Floyd’s Fun Facts!

St. Patrick’s Day is March 17th. Floyd is reminding everyone to wear their green!

  • Did you know..Saint Patrick didn’t wear green. His color was “Saint Patrick’s blue.” The color green became associated with St. Patrick’s Day after it was linked to the Irish independence movement in the late 18th century.
  • Despite his Irish notoriety, Saint Patrick was British. He was born to Roman parents in Scotland or Wales in the late fourth century.
  • St. Patrick’s name wasn’t actually St. Patrick. His real name was ‘Maewyn Succat’. The best of luck pronouncing that!
  • 13,000,000 pints of Guinness (the most popular of the many Irish beers) are drank on March 17th across the world!

Mint Chocolate Chip Cookies

  • 1 cup sugar
  • ½ cup butter softened (1 stick)
  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 1 box 3.4 box instant vanilla pudding mix
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp mint extract
  • 1 drop blue coloring + 7-10 drops green coloring
  • 1 ½ cups chocolate chips

  • Start by preheating the oven to 375 degrees F.
  • Then, line a baking sheet with parchment paper or spray with non-stick cooking spray, set aside.

Cookie Dough

  • Begin by creaming together the sugar and butter, in a large bowl, until nice and fluffy.
  • Then, add in the egg, sour cream and dry pudding mix, stir well to combine.
  • Next, in a separate small bowl, combine the flour, salt and baking soda.
  • After that, incorporate the flour mixture into the butter and pudding mixture and stir until well combined.
  • Now, add the mint extract and food coloring until desired color is achieved.
  • Lastly, add in the chocolate chips. I used 3/4 cup chocolate chunks, 3/4 cup regular chocolate chips and 1/2 cup Andes baking bits. Any combination is wonderful, but note that while the Andes mint baking pieces add an incredible flavor, they kind of disappear in the cookies. So add them in addition to the 11/2 cups chocolate chips, if you opt to put them in!

  • Start dropping the cookie dough by the rounded tablespoonfuls onto the prepared baking sheet.
  • Then, bake for 10 minutes.
  • When done baking, transfer to a cooling rack.
  • Serve fresh and warm, enjoy!
